Cancellation and Refund Policy
Draft policy — professional UAE legal review pending.
Last updated:
Vehicle purchases
SAYYAR is a marketplace, not automatically the seller. Purchase agreements are between buyer and seller. There is no automatic SAYYAR vehicle return/refund guarantee unless explicitly offered and managed under specific transaction terms. Inspect and verify vehicles before purchase. Cancellation, refunds, misrepresentation and defect disputes depend on the parties’ agreement and applicable UAE law. Statutory consumer rights must not be excluded.
Rental requests and bookings
A request is not a confirmed booking until the provider accepts. Providers must disclose cancellation conditions, deadlines, no-show rules and any charges before the request is submitted. Customers must review the displayed provider terms and actual payment arrangements. Cancellation of a request/booking in the platform does not itself prove a payment reversal or extinguish lawful obligations under the parties’ agreement. Where charges or conditions were not properly disclosed, statutory remedies remain available.
Refund eligibility and processing
Rental refund eligibility depends on the disclosed provider policy, actual payments made, the circumstances and applicable law; there is no invented universal cancellation fee, deposit or refund period. The provider must explain any lawful retained charge. SAYYAR does not currently process customer payments or refunds: parties arrange them directly. A refund is represented as processed only when the actual payment/refund system confirms it; a platform status or support message is not that confirmation. Keep receipts and written confirmations and raise unresolved matters with the relevant provider and competent authority.
Legal framework and verification
These policies are drafted with reference to applicable UAE law, including Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection (as amended), Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2023 Concerning Modern Technology-Based Trade and Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection where applicable. Rental and traffic requirements may also involve Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2024 on Traffic Regulation and the competent emirate authority. Mainland, free-zone and cross-border rules can differ. SAYYAR’s legal entity, commercial activity/licence, establishment, competent court, transaction model and emirate-specific obligations require professional UAE legal verification before commercial launch. These drafts are not a claim of legal certification. Mandatory statutory rights and obligations prevail over conflicting wording.
